Step-by-step instructions

  1. Enter each presenter once

List the people or groups that need a slot. Keep a presenting team on one line when it shares one slot.

  2. Choose order only or timed slots

Enable time slots if you need scheduled starts. Set the start time and one duration that includes speaking and transitions.

  3. Generate and publish the schedule

Select Set speaking order. Check the complete schedule and save it before sending it to presenters.

Worked example

Six teams present in equal ten-minute slots beginning at 14:00. The duration includes the agreed question period.

One valid result is shown below. Your generated outcome will vary.

Example input

Team A
Team B
Team C
Team D
Team E
Team F

Example result

1. 14:00 · Team B
2. 14:10 · Team E
3. 14:20 · Team D
4. 14:30 · Team C
5. 14:40 · Team F
6. 14:50 · Team A

Each team receives one position and a scheduled start. The result does not score pitches or adjust for setup complexity.

Publish timing and judging arrangements separately

Equal random chances at slots do not guarantee identical conditions during an event. State the shared time allowance, question period, and any fixed setup requirements before drawing. Handle teams with restricted availability outside an unrestricted draw. Save the final schedule and communicate changes explicitly instead of replacing it silently with a new generation.

Settings and limits to check

The example has 6 retained entries. The tool shuffles presenters once and can assign equally spaced starts. It supports one shared duration from 1 to 240 minutes per person, not custom durations or inserted breaks. Times use a 24-hour clock; a schedule crossing midnight marks the later day. Time-slot values must still be valid when using order-only output.

Settings used in this example
Start time: 14:00
Minutes per slot: 10
Include time slots: On
Remove duplicate entries: On

Keep a usable copy of the result

Use Copy to place the current result in your own notes, or Download to keep a text file. Keep the eligible input list with the result when you need to explain which entries took part. A new generation replaces the displayed result rather than adding to a saved history.

The tool runs in your browser and does not upload your input. Save the result before refreshing or leaving the page. If other people need to use the same outcome, share your saved copy rather than asking them to generate another independent result.

Frequently asked questions

Does the tool assign judges or scores?

No. It produces order and optional equal start intervals only.

Can each presenter have a different duration?

No. One duration applies to every slot. Adjust a copied schedule manually if the session needs unequal slots or breaks.

Can I get an order without times?

Yes. Turn off Include presentation time slots and generate the speaking order.

What should I check in the worked example?

Each team receives one position and a scheduled start. The result does not score pitches or adjust for setup complexity.
