About the random yes or no generator
A yes or no generator chooses between two fixed answers. It does not interpret a question or predict what will happen. Use it for a small everyday choice, a game prompt, or a playful constraint when both outcomes are acceptable. Decide what the answer will mean before generating it, rather than redefining the choice after seeing the result.
How to use the yes or no
- Decide on a question with two acceptable outcomes. You do not need to enter the question into the page.
- Click Decide for me to receive either Yes or No.
- Use Copy or Download if you want to keep the displayed answer. Click again for a new independent result.
Yes or no example
One possible result is shown below. Your result will vary.

Question you decide privately: “Try a new walking route today?”
Example result
Yes
The answer is randomly selected. It is not based on the wording, your location, or any knowledge about the proposed route.
When to use it
Small everyday choices
Break a tie between two acceptable actions, such as trying a different activity or choosing whether to add an optional game rule.
Creative constraints
Use yes/no prompts to guide a writing exercise or an improvisation game. Assign the meaning of the two answers before clicking.
Binary game outcomes
Use a plain-text answer where a game needs a two-way result. If the game calls specifically for heads or tails, use Coin flip instead.
Options and input rules
How the randomization works
This tool uses the browser’s crypto.getRandomValues() source. Integer selection uses rejection sampling to avoid modulo bias. Each generated value is sampled from the eligible outcomes; the options above determine whether previous selections in the same batch remain eligible.
Entries and results stay in this page’s memory. This site does not upload your input or keep a saved history. A new generation replaces the displayed result; copy or download anything you want to keep before reloading or leaving the page.
Frequently asked questions
Does the generator understand my question?
No. It makes a random selection between two words. The result is not advice, a prediction, or an assessment of the choice.
Can it answer maybe?
No. This tool has two outcomes. Add Yes, No, and Maybe to the Decision wheel if you want a three-option choice instead.
Why do I keep getting the same answer?
Repeated answers are possible because each generation is independent. Getting Yes several times does not force the next answer to be No.
Can I set the chance of Yes to 70 percent?
Use Weighted picker with “Yes | 7” and “No | 3.” This page always uses equal probabilities for the two answers.
