How-to guide Playlist shuffler

How to Randomize an Album Listening List

Here’s how to randomize an album listening list: use one album label per line and shuffle the albums as complete listening units.

How to Randomize an Album Listening List

Five albums form an example queue. Artist and album names can share the same line. Select Load example to populate the supplied list, or replace it with your own entries. Nothing is generated until you select Shuffle playlist.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Paste your own titles

Enter one song, episode, album, or movie per line. Include artist or series details when titles could be confused.

  2. Decide whether repeats belong

Enable Remove duplicates only when identical labels should appear once. Distinct versions need distinct labels.

  3. Shuffle and use the text order

Select Shuffle playlist. Copy or download the resulting title list and follow it in your own player or watchlist.

Worked example

Five albums form an example queue. Artist and album names can share the same line.

One valid result is shown below. Your generated outcome will vary.

Example input

Artist A — Album One
Artist B — Album Two
Artist C — Album Three
Artist D — Album Four
Artist E — Album Five

Example result

1. Artist C — Album Three
2. Artist B — Album Two
3. Artist E — Album Five
4. Artist A — Album One
5. Artist D — Album Four

The result changes album order, not track order within an album. Each entry is treated as one text item.

Choose the unit you want to shuffle

If preserving an album’s intended track sequence matters, enter only album labels. Pasting every track would randomize tracks instead. Include edition or artist details for ambiguous titles, then follow the saved album order in your own player. The tool does not create a playlist, fetch discographies, or track completed listening.

Settings and limits to check

The example has 5 retained entries. The playlist tool rearranges supplied text. It does not fetch media, connect to streaming accounts, play tracks, or edit another app. Each retained entry appears once in the new order. Duplicate labels can be removed, but different spellings or versions are not recognized as the same recording. A new shuffle can repeat an earlier position.

Settings used in this example
Remove duplicate entries: Off

Keep a usable copy of the result

Use Copy to place the current result in your own notes, or Download to keep a text file. Keep the eligible input list with the result when you need to explain which entries took part. A new generation replaces the displayed result rather than adding to a saved history.

The tool runs in your browser and does not upload your input. Save the result before refreshing or leaving the page. If other people need to use the same outcome, share your saved copy rather than asking them to generate another independent result.

Frequently asked questions

Can I keep album tracks together while shuffling album order?

Yes, by entering each album as one label and playing its tracks separately in your own player.

Will it change my streaming playlist automatically?

No. The output is a text list. Apply or follow that order manually in your own player.

Does it recommend new titles?

No. It only shuffles titles you provide; it does not discover songs, episodes, albums, or movies.

What should I check in the worked example?

The result changes album order, not track order within an album. Each entry is treated as one text item.
