Step-by-step instructions

  1. Choose an inclusive date window

Set the earliest and latest eligible dates. The end must be on or after the start.

  2. Set the number of dates

Choose How many? from 1 to 100. Repeated dates are possible because every pick is independent.

  3. Generate and record the dates

Select Pick dates. Save the output with the range settings when the window is relevant to your activity.

Worked example

A story uses characters born between 1985 and 2005. Five dates provide possible fictional details.

One valid result is shown below. Your generated outcome will vary.

Example settings

Start date: 1985-01-01
End date: 2005-12-31
How many: 5

Example result

1. 1987-07-24
2. 1996-07-07
3. 1995-06-11
4. 1988-06-21
5. 1991-01-08

The dates are valid within the window, but they are not a coherent character history or a set of guaranteed distinct birthdays.

Check age against the story’s actual date

A birth date only implies an age relative to a specified date in the story. A character may not have had their birthday yet in that year. Check the timeline yourself and avoid treating a broad window as an exact-age filter. The generator does not create real identity records or validate biographical details.

Settings and limits to check

The picker returns valid calendar dates in YYYY-MM-DD format. It includes both endpoints and does not exclude weekends, holidays, or previously selected dates. Repeats are allowed within a batch. It selects calendar days, not meeting availability or date-and-time appointments. A single-day window produces that day on every pick.

Settings used in this example
Start date: 1985-01-01
End date: 2005-12-31
How many: 5

Keep a usable copy of the result

Use Copy to place the current result in your own notes, or Download to keep a text file. Keep the range, count, or other settings with the result when they are needed to interpret it. A new generation replaces the displayed result rather than adding to a saved history.

The tool runs in your browser and does not upload your input. Save the result before refreshing or leaving the page. If other people need to use the same outcome, share your saved copy rather than asking them to generate another independent result.

Frequently asked questions

Will the tool calculate my character’s age?

No. It returns dates. Compare the selected birthday with the date of the scene yourself.

Can the same date appear more than once?

Yes. There is no no-repeat setting in this tool. Each date is selected independently.

Can I exclude weekends or holidays?

No. Every date in the selected window is eligible. Prepare an allowed-date list and use a list picker when exclusions matter.

What should I check in the worked example?

The dates are valid within the window, but they are not a coherent character history or a set of guaranteed distinct birthdays.
